We had another really positive meeting last night. Jane Thompson from ECDC came along and discussed the Ely Traffic Management Fund with us, there were lots of questions and we learned a lot more about the process and what may and may not be possible.

Outer ring route connected from Witchford Road to Downham Road
I’ve just ridden along the outer ring route from Witchford Road near the A10 roundabout all the way around to Downham Road. The missing section between Witchford Road and West Fen Road is now finished and open.
Cycle parking provision at new Aldi is woefully inadequate
So Aldi have been given planning permission for their new store on Lisle Lane opposite the new Sainsbury store. Glancing through the news article about the approval I noticed there are only 8 cycle parking spaces to be provided on the site.

Witchford Traffic Calming Measures
Witchford parish council have agreed a number of traffic calming measures. On the whole these measures all seem very cycle friendly, extending the 30 speed limit and adding a 40 limit on the approaches to the village as well as adding marked cycle lanes at the two main junctions on Main Street.
