Locals who prefer to get around Ely by bicycle might soon find it easier to park their bikes. Park That Bike in partnership with Cambridgeshire County Council are offering 2 Sheffield stands free of charge to non-profit organisations, including schools and doctor’s surgeries who have space it install them.
Commercial organisations, such as shops, businesses and offices, need not miss out as the Travel for Work Partnership can offer them financial help for installing cycle stands and taking other measures designed to reduce car use.
Ely Cycling Campaign welcome these initiatives. As more and more people are becoming aware of the benefits of cycling to and around Ely, but there is a shortage of cycle parking and these schemes should help. Park That Bike can supply stands to all sorts of organisations like; charities, allotments, churches, youth clubs and many others.
